Scripture reading of the day
Tongue like fire
Able to set a forest ablaze
Middle aged, most past seventy, women all
No one talks of their own tongue
Too aware of fires we ourselves have set
Words that cannot be called back
Whether to husband, children, or friend
With Thanksgiving soon approaching, we speak of our
favorite pumpkin dessert, turkey weights we will purchase
Lost relatives, prodigals, cost of butter
Like fire we do not want to touch our words
