by Paul Wine
I spoke to God this morning,
Or, more accurately,
He whispered in my ear and
heart
And gently spoke to me.
It was shortly after daybreak;
The sky was cool and pale.
I felt relieved of every care
And knew that all was well.
It seemed a thought implanted
with
A purpose in my mind
That quietly infused my soul
With peace and joy twined.
If God can speak to me as
though
He's standing next to me,
What need have I for brokered
words
That claim to speak for Thee?
