Now we begin the weeks of Lent, Shelve our sins and swiftly repent.
Goodbye, red meat or Cinemax!
For days, we must confront the facts—
We eat too well. We waste the night,
Leave work undone and keep from light
Degenerate activity.
Yet the hidden stays hidden. We
Choose lapses as light as lettuce
For our spiritual prep. Let us
Mirror Jesus in the desert By us denying our just deserts?
